My inability to write anything here may indicate a problem.

The easiest thing to do is to complain about something: the environment; advertising in the schools; the government; the way we fail to reconcile our democratic ideals with our prejudices; the way we're obtuse about the need to; the amount of time we spend in front of screens; the way we say things like "haha, there are only vestiges of animal instinct remaining in humans; we are in total possession of ourselves" rather than saying "millions of years have refined our instincts to a point of subtlety that we can swim far deeper into mathematics, for example, than our lungs actually allow" or "all of our sensitivities, hard-won over millions of years of evolution, are being sold back to us in imitation and, dressed up in silver foil, they somehow make us feel proud". The Media is big these days, so maybe complaining is at an all-time high? And the complaints are always so snappy! We're all so snappy! but lazy. We could take a lesson from Al Swearengen, who's always pragmatic with these fucking imponderables.
