Two days ago I saw this guy walking his baby dachsund. Baby was wearing a tiny red collar and the guy was wearing business casual. Baby was walking a little too slow sniffing at plants so Business Casual was yanking him along, down the sidewalk.
Today, a different man with a leash--walking his iguana. No grass or trees though, for iguana. Only cement. When iguana wanted to check out a bush, the man yanked and dragged it back to center sidewalk by its neck.

Somebody tell me what the fuck else spring is for if not for watching iguanas and baby dachsunds sniff municipal daffodils in the sunshine. Okay, okay, obviously that was rhetorical. Spring is also about humping, in the quest for which around here people are wearing a lot of clothes and shoes and handbags and telephones. (As it gets hotter probably less clothes and more shoes and telephones.)

And my cat is increasingly interested in venturing outside of the apt. He doesn't even greet me at the door anymore; he just walks out the door into the hallway. Tonight he went almost all the way to the stairs. I should start getting him used to the leash again.

This Saturday or Sunday, maybe my kite on the Mall.
